Putting Analysis
System is a unique computer application designed exclusively for
analyzing and improving a golfer's putting performance.
This exceptional software program works with
your (miniDV or digital8) camcorder to easily capture and evaluate recorded or "live" putting strokes. Extract as much information as possible about a player's putting
technique by analyzing videos from as many as eleven different camera angles.
The high-speed, 60 FPS (Frames-Per-Second), videos
allow you to perform a very accurate, scientific analysis.
The high-resolution capability lets you see big,
clear images on standard or flat-panel monitors.
Utilize the analysis, practice and on-course
statistical data to spot trends and improve performance.
Benefit from the included putting suggestions and
take advantage of the program's numerous learning aids.
Putting Analysis
System lets instructors and players analyze a putting stoke from eleven
camera angles. Closely examine the golfer's body, putter shaft,
blade, and ball from the front, side and rear.
Putting Analysis
System allows users to perform a
high-level 60 FPS video/analysis, utilizing a
special 21 speed video player, key positions, and other
special features.
Putting Analysis
System provides valuable putting suggestions and advice.
Putting Analysis
System also gives users the ability to track practice and course
putting statistics which can be used for comparisons and also expose areas that need improvement.
Video Capturing*
The integrated digitizing software tool,
custom-designed especially for putting analysis, communicates directly with
your video capture hardware device. It's setup so that a putt can be analyzed
utilizing 60 FPS (frames-per-second) High-Speed video. Technical aspects of the capturing, rendering
and saving processes have been pre-set so that only a simple, button-click
or key press is needed. However, capture options can be adjusted if you
desire and you have extensive manual and automated control.
You can capture an individual stroke to any of 10 built-in video capture/analysis files.
This lets you keep up to 10 putting videos in the program and have them instantly available.
Easily attach a text note to the captured stroke to help identify whether it was
"good, bad, etc." You can select which strokes to retain in "resident
memory" and which ones to capture over.
You can also capture a series of up to 10
putts at a time. Selecting any two or more of the ten numbered buttons
will record and save the strokes in the Video Capture Tool. If you'd like,
name and save the captured video, then import and analyze it later.
A number of utilities are provided to
automate the process and make capturing easier. You can auto-time single and
series captures by pre-setting how many seconds to record. Also
choose how long to wait before starting to capture and how many seconds to pause
in between digitizing a series of strokes. The "countdown" to start and
in-between can be visually displayed and also provide you with audible alerts. Single
users will find this feature especially useful. Instructors will also appreciate
not having to be at the computer in order to start and stop
recording.
You can easily trim the length of your captured
video by simply cueing to where you'd like it to begin, the end point will be
set automatically. Convert the video to 60 FPS for use within the program
or save it as an .AVI video
file to be used in another application. You have video compressor, cropping and size options.
The Video Capture Tool allows you to control (play, stop,
cue, etc.) your camcorder or VCR and you can also preview and capture television video, if your
hardware provides these capabilities.
Digital (miniDV, Digital8) and analog (Hi8,
8MM, S-VHS, VHS) video formats and NTSC & PAL Worldwide Television/Video
Standards are supported.
Direct Capture*
With literally a single button-click, this unique function lets you begin analyzing the
putting stroke within seconds by video
capturing a live or pre-recorded stroke directly into the analysis window. Quick Comment, a voice recording option, lets you immediately add a
comment about the stroke.
Capture High-Speed (60/50 FPS) video to any of the
11 built-in Analysis Video files.
Clicking one of the camera-angle videos from the drop-down menu loads the
corresponding video.
Within seconds, overlay lines, circles and other graphic elements
and play the putting stroke with complete control. Change elements as
you wish, then permanently save the video and graphics.
There are many Putting Analysis System graphics
and player features, including setting video "Key Positions." These
set positions, Address, Back, Impact and Finish, make it possible for you to "go to,"
alternate-between, and scan through specific parts of the video, giving you
numerous playback and analysis possibilities.
Putting Analysis
Go from live or recorded-stroke to begin your Analysis within seconds by using the
Direct Capture* function. You can also perform an Analysis on any of up to 10
putting strokes captured and held, or imported into the Video Capture Tool.
*Utilizing Video Capture Tool's Recording
and Direct Capture functions require specific format camcorders and computer
hardware. Click here for needed equipment.
Crop, size, center images, overlay lines, circles, etc.,
plot the player's, or their equipment's, position throughout the video, play the
putting stroke, and do an evaluation. Voice record a Quick Comment about the
putt. Easily save the video and graphics,
as well as the audio instruction or commentary, and the set Key
Positions. The Analysis holds and plays any of eleven camera-angle
videos which have been captured.
Putting Analysis System
videos can be presented in a variety of ways. The special Video Player gives
users great playing options by letting them choose any of 21 speeds, manual
forward and reverse slow motion and many other functions for very precise control in
viewing the video.
Move mouse-pointer over a Controller item to read its function.
Manual and automatic features:
21 speeds...
change speeds on-the-fly and combine functions...
select
and replay a video segment forward or reverse...
quickly set any of 4 Key
Positions (Address, Back, Impact and Finish), button-click to go to a Key Position...
choose and see automatically-alternating
Key Position combinations...
sequentially Scan through all selected Key Positions...
S/G (Stop/Go), watch the video play to the next
selected Key Position, pause, then resume playing...
Putting Analysis System figures and displays the time difference between positions...
Jog
(play) the video forward and reverse at various speeds by moving the mouse right
or left. The Analysis' custom Player provides unmatched, intuitive viewing
control using either the mouse or keyboard.
Use the A-B Control Bar to
synchronize playing two putting Analysis videos. For fine-tuned control,
press the slow motion forward and
reverse buttons. You can also hold down the left mouse button to go back and the
right button to
slowly move the videos ahead. The A-B Controls keep both videos in-sync with
absolute frame accuracy.
The Save and Load Overlay feature
provides
Putting Analysis
System users with another good
way to compare body or equipment positions, whether from the same person or a
superior performer. For example. Draw a red line over the video to indicate an
incorrect position and draw a green line, where the player should be. Save the
Overlay. Then, superimpose this graphic over another Analysis video and make a
comparison. You can also create your own custom graphics and superimpose them over the video.
60 FPS High Speed Video/Analysis
This Putting Analysis
System feature doubles the
normal video frame of 30 Frames-Per-Second, by splitting each frame into 2
separate pictures. 60 FPS (frames-per second) produces a high-level video
putting analysis. Compared to a standard video, there are twice as
many "stop points" during the stroke, so you're able to freeze the
action more precisely. With twice as much picture information, you'll get very accurate putter head and ball rolling data.
Additional benefits to this high FPS rate is
the availability of many slow motion and super slow motion speeds. The Analysis Video Player lets you select from 0.5 (1 image every 2 seconds) to 60 FPS
(normal speed) for extreme viewing control which yields smooth-looking video
even at low speed play.
Those using the PAL Worldwide Television/Video
standard will benefit even more. By doubling the relatively low 25 FPS standard
PAL rate to 50 FPS, the pictures produced by the Putting
Analysis System will result in a great improvement over the normal video rate.
A regular video file (.AVI), one
recorded at the standard 30/25 frames-per-second, can be imported and converted to
60/50 FPS for use in the program. Bring in putting strokes recorded from television or
other sources, analyze and use them for comparisons.
Putting Analysis
System primarily relies on its own
proprietary format/players for displaying and working with videos. This unique system is far more precise, versatile and reliable than those which use a standard video file and player.
You also have the ability to save the putting stroke as a regular .AVI video file should you
desire to use it outside the program.
High Resolution Images
The 720 by 480
pixel resolution video (NTSC, digital format) can easily be cropped and centered so that the
primary area of focus remains large while trimming away
useless scenery on the sides. This allows you to efficiently utilize your screen workspace and
enables positioning two windows side-by-side.
Data
Statistical and other information can be used to help analyze a player's performance.
Putting stroke timing (back, down, total, rhythm ratio) is calculated. Practice and on-course percentages of putts-made,
miss-hit, percent holed from a particular distance, average distance of made
putts, total feet of putts made per round, etc. can easily be entered, with totals
and averages automatically figured. Click for a list
of the Data that can be
tracked and saved.
Tips
Putting Analysis System comes with valuable suggestions and
picture-illustrated directions for improving a player's putting method.
Putting Analysis
System software is now download-able and simple to
install. It includes easy-to-follow tutorials covering video
capturing and putting analysis. There's
extensive in-program Help, as well as, on-line and email support if needed.
Price: $98.
